New gadgets
I really did mean to ride my bike today! Unfortunately, time got away from me. There is a really nice “green area” just down the street from where I live and if I follow the trails leaving from my house and following them through a very scenic wooded area that surrounds a lake, the ride is about 4 miles, which is just about right for me. That distance is easily traveled after work or in the morning…if I keep track of time. Riding the bike is great for my knee that I had surgery on two summers ago (repair of an obliterated Anterior Cruciate Ligament, or ACL for short, – yea for skiing!!
) It is doing better though. Riding the bike and walking daily is critical to getting it back to full strength. But as far as the bike goes, I even bought some nifty gadgets. A headlight, taillight, air pump, rear view mirror…and a motor! Well, maybe not that last one…I am still the catalyst and motivator of the machine at this point. Oh well, maybe I’ll ride tomorrow. I think I need to make a new list…I always do better with lists. Top of the list after prayer, study, and family…ride bike! My older self would appreciate it, and we should love the older version of ourselves…I think it’s part of loving our neighbor if you really think about it.
