Recycle

In the “green” environment of today, we have all heard the term “recycle”. Apart from paper, plastic, and metal recycling, there is also the kind of recycling that we can do in relationships. Each of us can wake up and meet each day with the motivation to recycle a relationship.

To recycle a relationship means simply to forget the past actions of another and give them a new “benefit of the doubt”. This is an important concept that can yield great rewards. This is important first for you, so that there is no bitterness or resentment harbored toward another. Second, it is important for them, that they are not held to mistakes that they may have already overcome or that they are truly working on overcoming.

Recycling can be very liberating in a relationship. An important point to remember is that we, also, need other people to recycle and begin fresh with us from time to time. Without recycling, we would find ourselves being over-critical of each other, and loosing sight of the strengths and positive attributes that the other person offers.

Remember – when you feel at your wits-end with someone else – recycle! You would want the same.
