Single Arab Currency

One of the signs to watch for in the Middle East is increasing unity among Arab nations in their stand against Israel and an Arab/Muslim union or confederacy forming against Israel. An article located on the StarTribune.com website dated December 15, 2009 states that Gulf Arab Nations have put into action a pact that would bring them closer to monetary union. This would allow greater integration and unification between the mainly oil-rich Arab states. The launch of this pact would allow for the Gulf Cooperation Council governors of the six central banks to set up “a timetable for the establishment of a regional central bank, with the aim of launching a unified Gulf currency.” This is an interesting development and one to keep an eye on in light of Bible prophecy. There will be a confederacy (Psalm 83:4-5) created that will be in opposition to Israel near the time of the end.
