The benefits of God
There is a powerful statement in the book of Psalms that really struck me today. Maybe because of so many that I see in the news who are suffering in anguish in this world. It seems that a day doesn’t go by where there is not a headline in the local paper that tells the disturbing details of the off-scouring of this society that we have to live in, but not be a part of. Rapes, murders, kidnappings, scandals, and a constant array of varied acts of random violence bombard the senses and assault the mind. This seemingly never-ending list of woes is contrasted with vivid clarity when we read this powerful Psalm:
“Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits, the God of our salvation! Selah” – Psalm 68:19
