KC Campout in Craig
The “camp out” in Craig, Missouri (outside of St. Joseph about 40 minutes) was a success! Friday night many of us present enjoyed singing and guitar playing around the camp fire, fellowshipping and an overall feeling of peace and unity. On the Sabbath there were 82 zealous brethren gathered together under a shelter. The topic of the Sermon was “The Family” and was given by me.
Services were followed by a congregational meal. I was told it is called a “pitch in” by the congregations in Indiana, so that’s what we did. Everyone brought food back to the shelter. This was again followed by an evening of fellowshipping and rest, and more guitar playing and song-singing.
Sunday morning games were planned and there was a “badminton” tournament, whiffle ball, and volleyball. By 1 o’clock everyone was pretty much packed up and ready to go. A special thanks to RB and DH for planning everything, and to JW for providing the financial assistance.
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” – Psalm 133:1
