Nothing missing…what about MARRIAGE!
An article from the Press Association dated July 13, 2010 stated, “Angelina Jolie has said that she would tie the knot with Brad Pitt if their children asked them to. The couple, who have six children, have been dating since 2005, but have insisted that marriage isn’t a priority for them. But the… star told US talk show Good Morning America: “I think it would be hard to say no to the kids.” She said that so far, though, it hasn’t been an issue. “They’re not asking. They are very aware that nothing’s missing,” the 35-year-old added.”
The children are aware that “nothing’s missing?” The God-ordained institution of marriage between these two “dating” adults is certainly missing! How far we have come in the destruction of even the worldly concepts of dating, and marriage. As the article states, “…marriage isn’t a priority for them.” Obviously, neither is God or His laws, and such is the contrived nature of Hollywood.
Satan does orchestrate the breakdown of mores through pop culture, plunging standards downward and converting what was at one time popular among the few, into mainstream thinking. This article just strikes at so many cultural wrongs that it is illustrative of the condition of the moral temperature of American pop culture. “We are Rome,” as the saying goes. Seeing this article literally drove me to the keyboard.
