Mowing time again

This week has certainly flown by. I hope you’ve had a profitable Days of Unleavened Bread. This year for my family and I has been the busiest, and most rewarding, spring holy days so far. For that we are very thankful. With the weather becoming more spring-like, the to-do list has grown, much like the grass. Today my wife and I will tackle the mowing together. Do…re…me!

In an effort to go from howling hound dog to Placido Domingo (I have high hopes, but maybe not that high) I have taken up singing and voice lessons. My mom, who by the way is fully qualified having played hymns in church services for many years, has the difficult task of teaching me to actually hit musical notes while singing – a daunting and ear numbing task to say the least, but I am determined . Your prayers are appreciated…for mom that is. By the way, I encourage each of you to try something new…something that stretches your abilities

KC Winter Family Weekend

The Kansas City Winter Family Weekend has come to a close. The turn-out was fantastic with over 500 brethren (522 was the exact count from Sabbath Services) from all over the country in attendance. The morning Bible Study by Mr. Wally Smith titled, “Insights from Job,” was a wonderful Sabbath morning jump starter. After lunch, the sermon presented by Dr. Douglas Winnail titled, “The role of education in God’s Plan”, asked some thought provoking questions like, “Why have you been called now?” and “What are you doing with the time you have been given?”

Snowy siege-mound

In the last couple days we’ve experienced some pretty heavy storms which have settled large quantities of snow on our lawn and driveway. The lawn I haven’t been too worried about, but wow…between the naturally occurring quantity of snow falling from the sky (which is not annoying) and the mountainous volume of snow which has been pushed onto my driveway by the snow-plow trucks (which is annoying), the result has been a veritable siege-mound being created at the front driveway entrance to our house.
